Ilkley Moor, 2016, oil sketch, 20 x 30cm.
Colour, form and the painting process all inspire the work of fine art painter Rachel Hinds.
Her practice ranges from painterly photo-realism to a more experimental approach. She is currently developing a new body of work around the theme ‘light’ – in its more literal sense in nature as well as looser interpretations.
This project explores different painting techniques and ways of expressing atmosphere and includes landscapes and urban scenes around Leeds and West Yorkshire and abstracts.
Up hill and down dale, Rachel remains undeterred in the face of poor weather. Accompanied by her faithful four legged friend, they venture off the beaten path and forge their own trail across the landscape in pursuit of ‘light’.
